Manufacturing high-performance welding wire is a multi-step process that relies on highly synchronized machinery. Any tension inconsistencies or material surface impurities can result in internal defects. Below is the technical breakdown of the production sequence:
The production cycle begins with wide, low-carbon steel strip coils. The low-carbon steel strip slitting machine divides the wide steel coils into narrow ribbons of uniform width, which are then wound tightly for downstream processing.
Before forming the strip, all surface oils and rust inhibitors must be removed. Our ultrasonic cleaning machine removes chemical contaminants from the strip surface. This ensures clean contact surfaces during subsequent seam closing and drawing stages.
Cleaned steel strip enters the forming machine. In this stage, the strip is formed into a U-shape. The flux powder mixing machine deposits a uniform, precisely measured charge of chemical flux down the center of the formed channel before the outer rollers close the seam.
Once closed, the wire enters the straight-type wire drawing machine. Using highly durable drawing dies & rolling cassettes, the wire diameter is progressively reduced. This drawing process increases the tensile strength of the outer steel casing and compacts the inner flux core.
Finally, the finished wire is wound onto spools using our high-precision layer rewinding machine, or packed directly into shipping containers via our drum packaging machine. This ensures clean wire feeding in automated robotic welding cells.
